Someone once said that “the only constant thing in this world is change.”  As the world is about change  I thought it was time to upgrade the Design and Technology website. I have included a free site to help students prepare their folios, a competition to win a copy of my  Design and Technology eBook, and advertising space. If I am a little slow to respond to your emails please forgive me. At times there are large volumes of emails  and complex issues requiring a little research on my part. Can I say, please do research yourself I can not be expected to do the lot!

My first webpage was put together rather quickly so students could contact me about the eBook.

I have recently redesigned the site with more information and more tips for students. It is now more ‘user friendly’.

I also have a competition running.

Quality Technical Drawings -Do you know how to produce them?

Many HSC ,VCE Students want to include technical drawings to meet the requirements of the HSC , VCE and lose many marks because they are unable to produce quality drawings.There is a requirement to produce a 3 angle projection drawing and an isometric drawing in your major design project folio.

My intention when I originally wrote the eBook was to put practical information in the hands of students. Information about how to avoid the mistakes other people have made, how best to display your project for marking.

One teacher from overseas who purchased the eBook put it this way in an email to me ” when it comes to practical information on how to display your MDP there is nothing to assist students. Keep up the find work and look forward to more from you”. I really appreciate this feedback folks.

Design and Technology -HSC students are you ready?

If you are a Design and Technology student you should start and think about how you will best display your Major Design Project. Have you asked your D& T Teacher how much space will be available per student and where will you be required to display the project for the markers?

Design and Technology- why put of buying all the parts you need!

Why is it that students put of buying all the parts they need for their project. Is it that they think you can build MDP with no funds??????????? Finding things left lying around may not be the best solution. You need to invest in your MDP!!

Design and Technology_ Major Design Project Materials

Where can I purchase materials for my Major Design Projects? Each year this question is asked by many students. A good place to start is the Yellow pages Telephone Directory either in hard copy or online formats. I have may it a practice to leave in the workshop a copy of the Yellow Pages. As students wish to source materials they can at least make a note for follow up at some later stage.

Trade publications and magazines are also a valuable way to find sources of materials.
